Ramah AlHusseini Is a conceptual painter that focuses on existing social pressure that suppresses 'truth.' Creating with a figurative surrealist approach, she tackles subjects of the everyday through research and conversation to manifest discussion. Since obtaining her BFA degree in Studio Arts from the University of Concordia Canada Mtl, Qc in 2011, she has showcased her work throughout the GCC, including the first art fair at Dubai Design District in 2017 as well as curating different art exhibitions such as Malja's annual art exhibition 2015, 2016 and 2017, a Red Bull art space. ALHusseini has exhibited abroad in group exhibitions such as in Birmingham UK under the Ulafa'a Initiative. She was recently awarded an artists residency in NYC under Dacia Gallery, USA in 2018. Currently she teaches painting workshops, gives public talks, and participates in panels including the Women power summit of 2018 and 2019. One of ALHusseini's murals is located on the exterior of Al Reem center in Riffa, bahrain. Most recently ramah showcased over 22 pieces in her solo exhibition titled " family portrait picture perfect" that took place in La Fontaine in bahrain that was part of Nuqat's 2019 regional forum: the state of the elastic mind, a kuwaiti creative platform, in november 2019.
